@erincook.bsky.social As an army reservist and a concerned parent…
@erincook.bsky.social BTW that’s Goulburn Street, not Sussex Street.
@sirdansmith.bsky.social It’s incredible that it’s so bad at it, isn’t it? I feel like it highlights some fundamental pattern recognition or semiotic gap in transformer models but I don’t know enough to figure out exactly what, or why.
@benhr.bsky.social Reminds me of the bad old days of public health/health services research under Thatcher and Major when people in the U.K. couldn’t even name inequities and had to talk about “health disparities”, like they were minor oversights.
However this is even more pernicious, harmful and goes further.

@benhr.bsky.social I think that’s the core of it 🤣😭
@benhr.bsky.social Which, parenthetically, is also a false binary in practice
@benhr.bsky.social But we already have an existing binary for that – formative and summative
@benhr.bsky.social Disagree. From Danny’s post outlining the 2 lanes educational-innovation.sydney.edu.au/teaching@syd...
@benhr.bsky.social As acknowledged in the article. The two lane heuristic frankly isn’t useful if it oversimplifies and then claims exceptions or that it isn’t a simple binary. We need better frameworks.
@meganclement.bsky.social No! I just meant that it seemed to me that it must have been not so long ago
@meganclement.bsky.social Has it been 12 years since you moved? Wow, that’s gone quickly.
@benhr.bsky.social The issue of adopting new definitions of antisemitism is an international one - described in this article on The Conversation
@benhr.bsky.social Yes agreed. Though I’ve also started to observe the scribe training the GPs too. “I can see you’re here with your Dad” and “I’m going to examine you now” in very stilted ways for the scribe’s benefit.
@antsyturbo.bsky.social What’s all this about then?
@antsyturbo.bsky.social Almost looks like it was dug out of a caldera
@dralexss.bsky.social Despite saying the “literature is sparse” the authors make some fairly strident claims in the results section. Reads like axe grinding.
@chrisomerville.bsky.social I treasure it (its a good collection tbh)
@chrisomerville.bsky.social I’ve read that one!
@cameronwilson.bsky.social Subscription grandpa
@benhr.bsky.social Yeah, possibly. Trying to insulate himself against future claims that he caused these terrible cases?
@benhr.bsky.social Yeah, quite. The content of what he wrote is still in line with his views, but it’s a marked shift of direction.
